Programs

"Education is the most powerful weapon which   you can use to change the world". Nelson Mandela

Our program values and views it as a child's path to mastery.  Our role as teachers, are to structure the environment to maximize opportunities for natural learning to occur.  While the children are given freedom to choose various learning activities during,

"Constructive Play", we also provide and enriched, daily structure time for our preschooler, called "Small Group Time", Where we divide into different age groups, and work on skill building, subjects and activities that are aged appropriate.  Our program will strive to provide the following:

Promote Self-Esteem

This is done through language that is both positive and nurturing.  Classroom curriculum activities and environment also reflects the culture of each child, thereby promoting a positive sence of self.  We also integrate daily living activities as part of our curriculum.  For example, child-
ren will help with picking up and putting away tasks.  They will be encouraged to help with meal preparation and table setting, and older children might be asked to help with younger children.  These things teach social skill such as cooperation and sharing, helpfulness, patience and empathy.

Develop Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Our main focus of program is constructive play.  This means that we will provide and encourage various activities and projects.  For sensory skills, we include almost daily, sand and water play, drawing, painting, cutting and pasting. For Science, we include cooking, and Job-chart to teach responsibility for taking care of our school environment, watering plants, sweeping and dusting, and learning daily how to take care of our little school critters!

Physical Activities

This can include nature walks, outdoor play with balls, trikes, and various outdoor equipment, gardening, music movement.  Daily learning activities will be carefully selected; and books for story telling as well as flannel graph stories.

Social and Emotional Support

As parents and as Teachers, We are role models for your children.  Our program will foster children's emotions, and teach them  how to handle anger, hurt, and frustrations, by nurturing and  teaching positive communication skills.  On the whole, our program inspires and encourages children to be active, independent  and divergent thinkers.
