Our Staff

This is our 13th year of being in business, and we love every minute of it! We are a year around preschool center that teaches developmentally appropriate fun activities.

Renee Taylor

I have been married 40 years and have been blessed with five of my own children, four boys and a girl. I have been teaching for about 35 years and learn something new everyday and love every moment. The children have been such love and joy in my life which I truly feel blessed. My educational journey never ends. I started teaching through home schooling my own children and was originally taught the Montessori method where I received a certificate through the two year program. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education and review and choose courses for continuing education and professional growth that I feel would be most used and helpful in teaching the children. My staff is hand selected, with great assets to bring to the school program, each having the same philosophy and dedication that I have a passion to continue here at the preschool. The childrens' interests are what we strive to bring into the curriculum (called emergent curriculum) to strengthen and guide their passions through learning. Often times our graduated students come by to visit and have grown into young strong adolescents which is amazing to me. We strive for success and self esteem and independence in our children along with confidence we offer the children the skills required to fulfill our motto “a child's path to mastery” which we see each time a graduated student visits.

Deborah Nelson

Having two children who are now grown and on their own, I decided to volunteer at the Taylor Children's Preschool, helping a long time friend.  I decided, after two years of volunteering that I should gain more knowledge and experience in teaching children. I went to the Junior College and received a better understanding and more knowledge of teaching preschool children. I obtained a Preschool age children certificate in Early Childhood Education to help the teachers as an assistant. I am current with my CPR infant, children and adults certification.  I enjoy working in the children's learning environment and find it rewarding.

"Becca" Taylor

Rebecca has a unique experience at TCPS, not only is she Renee's daughter, but she is a former student!  She isn't at the school often, as she is currently working on becoming an EMT; but sometimes she helps out!

Sissy Crawford

I first came to Taylor Children's Preschool as an assistant to the Owner, Renee Taylor, when the school was first purchased.  We performed a lot of preparation of documents, activities and curriculum along with organizing the inventory and best utilizing the space provided.  I obtained an AA in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in working with children having special needs and worked on and off since inception of the school.

Later I continued my educational goal and obtained a BS in Business Administration. I continued my education taking classes toward the Director requirements. I continue to add to my education, having taken floral classes at the JC and the local Flower supply company and other courses that help me in the teaching process.

I have several years crafting and quilting experience and utilize my creative skills with the children so they can be engaged in the learning process through crafts and feeling a sense of self achievement through the completion of their projects. I love to watch the children as they discover and find their way.

I was an instructor at a local facility to teach work skills to adults with disabilities.

I keep current with my immunizations and boosters and CPR infant, child and adult certification.
